RISD Graduate Commons Grant
(Page under construction)
I was honored to receive the competitive Graduate Commons Grant during the summer of 2023 to conduct self-guided research. I spent two months in Mexico City, Oaxaca Valley, and Guatemala investigating how designers, traditional artisans, stores, galleries, and intermediaries work to create home goods which are sold to a growing international market.
By participating in all stages of the process as a form of creative research - from making alongside local artisans, to documenting the creative process of well-known designers - I was able to capture insights along the chain of production.

I had the honor of interviewing some of Mexico City’s most respected and sought-after contemporary designers…

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
