Intention Pills
When we take a pill, it is because we are setting an intention for the way we want our future to unfurl. For example, if I currently have a headache and want to be rid of it in the near future, I might take a pill that advertises relief; I am working with a physical object and with my intention for the future to shape my reality.
Designing the product experience
Write an intention on a piece of paper - something for healing your body - using the edible rice paper, edible ink pens, and gel capsules. See if the change in your awareness has an effect on your reality.
The Intention Clinic
Instructions: write any intention you would like to come to fruition (within the limit of some connection to your body). No one was asked to share what they wrote, just to take the pill while at the table.
Tracking the impacts
A survey was sent to participants of The Intention Clinic after seven days. They were asked what they remembered from the experience and what kind of impact it had on them, physically and mentally.
Iteration #2:
A suite of options
Participants are asked, “What does your body need today?”
The three options below are iterations of the Intention Pill.
The first station offers them Energy. They are instructed to take a pill, open it, and read the paper inside. The paper tells them to hop up and down for ten seconds, then take a deep breath that fills their chest. Moving the body up and down is a proven way to activate the circulatory system, and increased oxygen to the brain is clinically the best way to stimulate attention.
The second station offers them Calm. My research of medical journals showed that centering the mind and providing oxygen is also proven to calm the nervous system and release soothing chemicals in the brain. Visitors are invited to open the pill and read the instructions, which tells them to sit, focus on where their feet touch the ground, and breathe into that place.
The third station offers visitors to write their own intentions - what their body needs - on a piece of edible paper with edible ink, and take the pill.
