Co-designed this unique space with Mitchell Denburg, President of New Roots Foundation.
Felisa Café is the “museum café” located in the front garden of La Nueva Fábrica, and is one of the first things guests see upon entering. The concept was for two chicken buses (the traditional public transportation in Guatemala) to appear as if racing from the outside, and give way to a spacious and fun interior. We used the original bus seats to create the café seating area, styling it off a combination of an American diner and a street-side Parisian café.
I helped design the architecture of the space and the layout of the interior, I designed the logo and associated branding, I helped design the menu and coordinated one of the finest coffee roasting companies in Antigua to supply the café and train our baristas. I then helped manage the business once the main barista/overseer was hired.
