training journalists and civil society in mexico

In July 2017 I had the pleasure of leading back-to-back Global Forest Watch trainings in Mexico City; one with a large group of civil society organizations interested in issues relating to forests, and another with an impressive group of journalists looking to use data visualization in their environmentally-related stories. The workshops were in partnership with Reforestamos Mexico, our long-time collaborators.

These workshops were part of Reforestamos Mexico’s current contest to see which journalists, NGOs, students and researchers can use GFW in the most innovative, impactful ways. It was pretty amazing to see this well-respected organization use GFW maps and technology to inspire people across the country and I look forward to seeing the submissions and results of the contest!
