I have definitely felt my concept of “homeland” to be split between California and Guatemala during my life. When I was a kid we lived here off and on for long periods of time; I went to school here, I made my first lifelong friends here, I matured here, and now I have returned here!
I’ve switched from the Washington, DC office life to the life of a creative/strategic consultant working from home in Antigua, Guatemala! I’m still dedicated a lot of time and effort to Global Forest Watch and restoration initiatives with World Resources Institute, but I’m also working quite a bit with New Roots Foundation and exploring ways to help other NGOs and small businesses around Guatemala.
So far, getting back to my roots has been incredible. Stay tuned!
